Spring Refresh

It's such a great word. Refresh. Another great word; Revive.  Both are part of the program Baptist Hospital is presenting in May.   Revive: Spring Refresh Ladies Only Health Event is coming up Tuesday evening, May 3rd at the lovely Hutton Hotel on West End in Nashville. The free event is open to all women in the community and the idea, as in the previous two events, is to offer good solid medical information that women want and need.  Once again, there's going to be a panel that includes experts from different medical backgrounds.  Dr. Leah Cordovez is an internist with Nashville Medical Group.  There's a rheumatologist as well; Dr. Christian Rhea with Heritage Medical Associates.  I've interviewed Larry Gurley many times before. Dr. Gurley is a gynecologist with Nashville GYN Center.  Dr. Catherine Stallworth is returning to the panel. She's a physical, rehabilitation and integrative medicine specialist with Nashville Medical Group. She was fabulous at our last event in January.  And a nutritionist will also be on board; Randy Pendergrass is with Seton Support Center.  So you can see, this panel will cover alot of ground and be able to answer questions ranging from menopause and fertility issues, to joint pain, to healthy living as it relates to food choices. 

    There is a new attraction to this spring revive program, and that's free health screenings, including checking your BMI(body mass index), blood pressure and bone density. Chair massages will be offered too.

    Again, the focus is you.  The agenda is geared  to help us learn to take charge of our own health and navigate the sometimes confusing choices we need to make regarding treatments, medications, procedures, etc.

    The organizers really have this event down pat. They offer wine, great appetizers and desserts, and again it's free, so what's there to lose!  All you need to do is call your friends and then register at http://www.baptisthospital/revive.  Space is limitied and they need to hear from you by April 28th so don't wait. They're expecting around five hundred women!
