Will You Be There?

Before I get to the big event tomorrow (Wed.) I must give you an update on Donna Marmen who I wrote about last week. Donna is one of our  nashvillegoesred.org spokeswomen that you can read more about on this web site. Last Wednesday, Donna had gastric bypass surgery at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She's wanted to lose weight for a long time and after very careful consideration, she had the surgery.   I just got off the phone with Donna and she sounds great!  She was only in the hospital for one night and hasn't taken a pain pill since she got home.  Donna gave me permission to let readers know her weight right before the procedure:  261 pounds. She's already lost 7 pounds and walked more than a quarter mile today!  Donna is returning to work tomorrow as a music teacher too. Her main message is that this is not a cure all for weight loss, but a tool for people to use in their weight loss journey.  I'll be sharing her progress with our readers in the coming weeks.

Donna has been a featured speaker at the Rutherford County "Go Red" luncheon, where she shared her story of heart disease with the crowd. Tomorrow we'll hear from another woman who has an incredible story of strength and survival. Her name is Ginger Zimmerman and I won't reveal her story here but I will say it's one you'll never forget.  I can't wait to meet her. The luncheon promises to be full of emotion and enthusiasm. We're expecting four hundred guests so you know there will be plenty of energy.  I look forward to seeing many of you at the Franklin Marriott in Cool Springs, and remember to show your true colors-red, red, and more red!!!!
