I lost my dad to heart disease when he was only 50 years old and in the prime of his life. He had suffered a devastating heart attack three years before that, so he was always worried it could happen again, and it did. The only wonderful thing for him was that he was doing what he loved most when it happened – playing golf!
But we were robbed of him way too soon.
I think had Dad experienced his heart problems today instead of in the ‘80’s, he’d still be with us because of so many advances in treating heart disease. That’s why I want to help spread the word about risk factors and prevention.
There’s so much we can do to make our hearts healthier.
I know I have one risk factor that I can’t change – family history. But, there’s a lot more I CAN control and that’s what I’m focusing on and hope you will, too!
